We are looking for an AmeriCorps Program Specialist II to join UServeUtah within the Department of Cultural and Community Engagement, where you will provide high-level administrative, financial, and programmatic support to ensure the success of AmeriCorps State programs. Key Responsibilities Provides guidance, monitoring, and technical support to ensure that Utah State AmeriCorps programs meet federal funding agency guidance, regulatory and legislative requirements. Provide comprehensive support for assigned AmeriCorps programs, exercising professional judgment to ensure all portfolio activities adhere to state and federal grant requirements. Respond to and initiate inquiries, answer questions, and independently resolve problems whenever feasible; communicate Commission policy and procedures to program organizations and service communities. Review pre-contract documents provided by programs and prepare draft contracts in coordination with the program manager. Perform risk assessments, desk reviews, and site monitoring visits as required by policy. Review, troubleshoot, and process requests for reimbursement from sub-grantees. Compose and/or prepare correspondence, memoranda, promotional materials, forms, newsletters, manuals, and reports using appropriate word processing and spreadsheet tools. Maintain a tracking/monitoring system to meet federal grant compliance requirements. Complete research on best practices; collect data, analyze and develop reports. Review and maintain statistical information on program performance; supports ongoing AmeriCorps evaluation and system improvement processes. Market and communicate AmeriCorps programs and UServeUtah initiatives to the public. Perform other duties as required to support the mission and function of the agency. Cultivate relationships, build rapport, and maintain high levels of communication with program staff. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: This position requires one or more years of experience as an UServeUtah AmeriCorps State program specialist I. This experience must have been within the last two years for relevancy. A combination of education and/or direct experience that enables the incumbent to effectively complete the essential duties. Proficiency in planning, coordination and delivery of training. Experience reviewing, interpreting, and processing grant related reimbursement requests and progress reports. Experience in interpreting and applying policies, grant requirements, technical directives, state or federal standards and regulations, and implementing compliance processes/procedures. Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and oral/writing communication skills required. Ability to exercise sound judgment, take responsibility for meeting deadlines, and be a skilled problem solver. Ability to initiate projects and work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Forms, Sheets, and Slides). Advanced skills with spreadsheets such as Excel and Google Sheets.
