Description

A leading global financial institution is seeking a dedicated Anti-Money Laundering Investigator to join their Sydney CBD team. We are looking to hire the following candidate profiles:

  • AML Investigation analyst
  • Transaction Monitoring Analyst
  • Quality Control / Quality Assurance Leads

What you'll do:

  • Conduct end-to-end investigations into suspicious or unusual customer activity, analysing profiles, transactions, source of funds/wealth, counterparties and jurisdictions.
  • Identify money laundering and broader financial crime risks, including emerging typologies and threats.
  • Support the bank's financial crime remediation programme through reviews of historical and higher-risk activity.
  • Prepare clear, evidence-based investigation reports, recommendations and suspicious activity escalations.
  • Maintain comprehensive case records and ensure decisions are appropriately documented and supported by evidence.
  • Identify control weaknesses, data gaps and recurring issues, escalating these through appropriate governance channels.
  • Collaborate with KYC, Transaction Monitoring, Compliance, Sanctions, Fraud, Legal and other stakeholders to support effective investigations.

What you bring:

  • Proven AML/financial crime investigation experience within a bank or regulated financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CTF, KYC and broader financial crime risk frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, with experience assessing complex transactions and customer behaviour.
  • Excellent written communication and ability to produce clear, evidence-based investigative narratives.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound risk-based judgement.
  • Experience in remediation or enhanced review environments is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive investigations effectively.
