Description
Delivering these services to our clients and their investors is a diverse team of 1,400 highly skilled employees across the globe based in New York, London, Glasgow, Dublin, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hong Kong. 1. Operational Efficiency: Conduct daily AML reviews for new investor account setups, ensuring compliance with regulations and company AML policies. Collect due diligence and compliance documentation (AML/KYC) based on investor risk levels (low, medium, high). Perform periodic due diligence reviews as required by internal policies and regulatory regimes. Maintain organised investor KYC records. Produce and review MIS and other operational reports to support effective team operations. Oversee daily team operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of investor AML reviews and requests. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors. Manage the investor onboarding process, including account setup and verification. Act as a contact point for team-related matters and escalate issues to Senior Manager as needed. Maintain effective relationships with management and colleagues in other functional teams to deliver unified client service. Demonstrate strong knowledge of internal policies and procedures. Deliver consistent, high-quality services to maintain strong client satisfaction. Provide timely AML issue reports and investor status updates to fund managers. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of fund offering documentation and applicable regulations for the fund's domicile. Thoroughly understand and adhere to internal policies and procedures, with emphasis on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) controls and regulations. Ensure all investor-related AML documents and communications comply with regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices. Maintain accurate investor records and uphold data integrity within internal systems. Conduct AML/KYC operations in line with legal and regulatory requirements. Monitor and proactively address operational risks, including compliance, accuracy, and fraud. Stay updated on client information, industry regulations, compliance standards, and market trends. Review and update procedural documents in response to regulatory changes. Communicate and escalate AML/KYC issues promptly to line management and risk teams, ensuring proper resolution and documentation. Lead and participate in incident resolution, including drafting reports and implementing actions to prevent recurrence (such as employee training, policy updates, or system enhancements). Analyse operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Ensure timely follow-ups on pending items and update systems as needed. Assist with preparation and distribution of investor AML status and risk reports to MLRO and Board on a scheduled basis. Prepare and deliver regular reports, including database, risk metrics, KPIs, and SLAs. Ensure timely timesheet updates. Collaborate with onshore stakeholders, Investor Services, global financial crimes, and IT teams to ensure effective integration of AML/KYC processes into business operations. Support the development of AML tools and frameworks by providing operational insights. Lead, train, motivate, mentor, and develop a team of AML professionals. Clearly communicate team objectives and foster ownership and accountability. Ensure team members understand relevant policies, controls, and procedures. Promote a positive, productive team environment aligned with organizational goals. Identify skill development needs and create process instructions for faster onboarding. Work closely with senior management to deliver high-impact client service. Oversee timely, accurate, and compliant delivery of AML services per SLAs. Provide AML expertise and resolve process-related issues, using a risk-based approach for reviews. Ensure adequate team coverage during leaves and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and offshore counterparts. Act as a point of escalation and keep management informed of operational and HR issues promptly. Experience with process automation and efficiency initiatives. Strong administrative and organisational skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy. Proven ability to work and lead under pressure, manage increased workloads at peak periods, and lead globally distributed teams. Prior experience in hedge fund operations, AML/KYC, or similar financial services roles. Thorough understanding of KYC documentation for SDD, CDD, and EDD standards. Knowledge of AML/KYC regulations and compliance requirements. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, including process optimisation and handling complex client situations. Ability to collaborate effectively in virtual teams across multiple time zones. Competence in key financial systems, IT tools, and AML/KYC or CRM platforms. Strong knowledge of financial products, markets, and AML/KYC operations. Demonstrated leadership experience and team management abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Master's Degree in Law or MBA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related business/numerical discipline. Professional certification such as ACAMS preferred. 6-8+ years of AML/KYC experience within a regulated financial services firm or fund administration. Strong knowledge of global AML regulations, especially as they pertain to funds. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and data management tools; experience with financial software is a plus. Effective team player who can also work independently and escalate issues when necessary. Ability to work under pressure and manage increased workloads at month-end.
