About the role

We’re seeking an AML Manager for our Quality & Risk team in our Bristol office. You’ll be joining a collaborative and forward-thinking team, with responsibility for leading and developing the AML function. You will have the autonomy to drive improvements, introduce new ideas, establish effective processes, and take ownership of the team's ongoing development, playing a key role in shaping how the function operates and evolves.

Day to day, you can expect your responsibilities to include:

• Leading the firm's client and matter inception and centralised AML processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Managing, developing and supporting the Work Acceptance Team, promoting high performance, consistency and continuous improvement
• Overseeing AML policies, processes and controls, providing guidance on complex client due diligence, sanctions, PEPs and other AML matters
• Maintaining the quality of client and matter data, including data cleansing, reporting, auditing and supporting internal and external audits
• Managing third-party AML screening and identity verification systems, ensuring they remain effective and fit for purpose
• Driving process improvements, contribute to strategic initiatives and maintain team procedures, guidance and training

While this role is based in Bristol, it will require regular travel to Bath and Swindon, as well as occasional travel to our other offices.

You will have:

• Prior experience of managing AML/CDD processes, client due diligence and electronic identity verification within a law firm or financial services environment is essential
• Expert knowledge of AML regulations with the ability to analyse complex documentation and make informed recommendations and escalations
• Proven experience of leading and developing a team
• Strong analytical, organisational and IT skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships
• Degree qualified, with AML qualifications or qualified solicitor status being highly desirable
