Internship Job title: Industrial Engineer Internship Department / Division: Engineering Hourly Range: $25 – 26/hour Location: Ada, MI Work Arrangement: Onsite What’s special about this team: The Industrial & Systems Engineering team delivers systems and analytics for our manufacturing team. This team works heavily with cross-functional partners such as research & development, quality, maintenance, planning, finance, and manufacturing to provide internal consulting support. You will join a team of software developers and industrial engineers who design and implement a process-led manufacturing technology solution. This group partners with similar teams located at our manufacturing operations in India and China. How would an intern contribute to the team’s success: We are looking for an analytical person who will be responsible for analyzing the efficiency of manufacturing operations and implementing changes related to personnel, material, machines, and facilities. Work involves leadership ability, critical thinking, and communication skills. An example of a typical project would be: Conducting a root-cause assessment on a manufacturing work center, proposing solutions, executing the changes, and then following up to ensure repeatability. Required skills and background: Desired Major: Industrial Engineer, Operations Research, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial/systems engineer, Applied mathematics, or related Engineering field. Desired Class Year: Sophomore or Junior Desired Skills: Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Effective communication skills and ability to work well with multiple disciplines and management levels. Leverage your developing skills in engineering tools and techniques, including finance, FMEA, ergonomics, time studies, process improvement, and statistics. Understanding manufacturing processes Exposure in Microsoft Excel / MS SQL Server, Tableau, and/or Power BI is preferred Project management skills to lead projects to successful conclusions.
