Anaesthesia Post-Residency Clinician - 6 month fixed-term from July 2025 (dates can be flexible)
Wear Referrals, part of Linnaeus, is a multi-disciplinary, specialist veterinary referral hospital in the North East of England, close to the historic university city of Durham, the thriving city of Newcastle and set between the north east coast and the Pennines.
We have services in neurology , orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, anaesthesia, oncology, diagnostic imaging and cardiology, as well as an out-of- hours emergency service and in-house hydrotherapy. Wear Referrals has more than 20 Specialists, supported by a highly skilled team of nurses, radiographers and other associates.
With ongoing growth and success based on an outstanding reputation and a commitment to clinical excellence, Wear Referrals are looking to recruit a post-residency anaesthetist to work with our team of Specialists.
Our hospital facilities include a dedicated ICU staffed 24 hours a day, spacious well-designed wards with many walk-in kennels, in-house 1.5T Siemens Magnetom Essenza MRI, 16 slice Siemens Somatom Emotion helical CT, digital radiography, digital fluoroscopy and a Samsung RS85 ultrasound system. In addition to a dedicated ultrasound room, and CT/MRI control room we have a separate radiology reading room.
We have invested and developed significantly in the anaesthesia service, including many additional high-end multiparameter monitors, Cardell BP monitors, piped oxygen system with dual oxygen concentrators, many B-Braun syringe drivers and drip pumps, and an MRI compatible multiparameter monitor. Our fantastic team have worked together to maximise patient safety and standards of patient welfare throughout the hospital.
We encourage an evidence-based multi-disciplinary approach, supporting a process of continuous learning and a collegiate atmosphere. We have an active internship programme and are expanding our residency programmes. Our extensive clinical caseload will provide an interesting variety of cases and clinical research is actively encouraged and supported. Linnaeus provides superb support and facilitates a highly collaborative approach between their hospitals and colleagues.
Applicants must be highly motivated, proactive and passionate about delivering clinical excellence, with excellent social and clinical skills.
