ABOUT YOU
A variety of opportunities are available for qualified Anaesthetists (Senior Medical Officers) who want to make a positive impact while working in a dynamic, multidisciplinary, and supportive team. Health New Zealand are looking for Anaesthetists who are passionate about delivering quality care to our patients. Positions include covering planned and acute care theatre sessions, after-hours on-call support and pre-assessment clinics. Our Anaesthetists support other departments, including obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, dental, mental health, and the emergency department, meaning no two days are the same.
Positions are available across New Zealand with immediate start dates, or you can speak with our recruitment team about your plans to move to New Zealand.
Have an interest in Child Health? Starship National Children’s Hospital has the only PICU in the South Pacific and is also a major teaching centre in New Zealand for paediatric training and research.
To work as an Anaesthetist (Senior Medical Officer) in New Zealand, you must become registered to practice with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Practitioners must meet competency standards and hold Annual Practising Certificates (APCs) to work safely and effectively. More information can be found on our careers site; search for ‘Anaesthetist’.
SENIOR MEDICAL OFFICERS RECEIVE A BASE SALARY RELATIVE TO THEIR LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE.
