Classification: MD2 – $416,551 to $605,769 + Superannuation & Salary Sacrifice Benefits

An exciting opportunity exists for a Consultant in Women’s Anaesthesia to join a dynamic team delivering high-quality care in a major public health service in Adelaide.

This role provides specialist anaesthetic, acute pain, and resuscitative services for obstetric and gynaecological patients, with responsibilities that include:

  • Pre-anaesthetic patient preparation and participation in pre-anaesthetic clinics
  • Providing pain relief services for labouring women
  • Delivering anaesthesia for elective and emergency O&G surgeries
  • Supervising and training anaesthetic registrars in line with the ANZCA curriculum
  • Ensuring patient care aligns with evidence-based best practices
  • Contributing to effective multidisciplinary teamwork
Responsibilities

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
  • Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA)
  • Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated expertise in obstetric and gynaecological anaesthesia
  • Experience in a large public hospital setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
