We are looking for a motivated Accounting & Controllership Analyst to join our Financial Shared Services team in Cheshire, CT. This entry-level role offers the opportunity to develop your accounting skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment. QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE

  • Typically requires a University Degree and less than 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements

QUALIFICATIONS WE PERFER

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including extensive experience in Excel
  • Experience with SAP
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Capability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment

MINIMUM PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be on a career break of one or more year at time of application
  • Have prior experience in functional area of interest
  • Have interest in returning in either a full-time or part-time position

The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Manages and maintains the organization’s financial records and transactions related to general accounting, general ledger, projects, and / or government accounting, by following procedures, guidelines, accounting policies, and control processes, ensuring accuracy of accounts
  • Compiles financial information to record transactions, prepares reports, and completes reviews to report accurate information
  • Assigns entries to proper accounts in order to ensure proper documentation
  • Prepares month end journal entries and assists in account reconciliation, projects, and internal and external audits
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance and ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Develops, directs, plans and evaluates accounting policies and procedures including cost accounting and general accounting
  • Manages the planning and direction of accounting activities, including the maintenance of the ledger accounts and financial statements
  • Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions, including coordination and administration of assignments
  • Conducts or assists in the documentation of cost, government and project accounting in addition to attending to financial reporting
  • Manages and investigates close data
  • Investigates and manages intercompany, and fixed asset accounting
