You will ensure that we comply with all local indirect taxes including VAT, GST, sales tax, and excise tax, among others. You will also ensure the timely filing of returns and payments, so we comply with local regulations and ensure the accurate and timely reporting in our financial statements. To succeed in this role, you must understand the accounting entries for these taxes and ensure that we are accounting appropriately. You will also handle requests and queries from local tax authorities’ audits and help prepare documentation to support audits. How you will contribute You will: Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process. Coordination of work with 3rd party service provider ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance and timely submission of all tax forms: Value added tax forms 300.00, 328.00 Transport tax forms 700.00, 701.00* Emissions into the environment form 870.00* Formation, submission of statistical reports, including forms 1-invest, 1-TS, 2-MP, 2-trade* Formation, submission of reports to the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan on forms 1-PB, Appendix 4* Interaction with regulatory authorities on working with incoming notifications, requests, conducting desk audits Support for audits by regulatory authorities Participation in the closing of the month - formation, posting and control of the correctness of the reflection of transactions on taxes and payments Monthly reconciliation of accounts* Having proper documentation for each transaction issued in accordance with Kazakhstan legislations (Tax, Civil, and other norms and regulations approved by the government) Performing internal tax controls* Tracking innovations and changes in legislation* Being ready to take more responsibility during absence of other Accountants What you will bring A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career. You will bring experience and knowledge in: TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in indirect taxes with subject matter knowledge and ideally a background in associated local GAAP, account analysis reporting and closing processes. Solid knowledge of local indirect tax regulation and laws. Knowledge in policy, controls and compliance design including SOX reporting BUSINESS ACUMEN and understanding of our business and finance beyond indirect tax scope LEADERSHIP SKILLS including proven communication skills and the ability to be a team player with a drive to deliver results GROWTH/DIGITAL MINDSET and the ability to leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and financial system knowledge INTEGRITY and sound judgement in all decisions and interactions aligned with our values, policies and external regulations More about this role Education / Certifications: Higher education in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Technical or Mathematics Tax-specific education would be considered a plus Job specific requirements: Two -three years of tax experience Expertise with ИСЭСФ, Taxpayer’s cabinet Strong analytical skills Experience in application of Kazakhstan legislation on corporate taxation English (Pre-Intermediate/Intermediate) Ability to work with big data, being attentive to details and figures The role is temporary till December 2027.
