Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Our Accounting Office is looking for an Analyst, Accounts Payable to develop, implement, and monitor Key Performance indicators; to provide input into accounts payable policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with those policies and procedures; and to support the Accounts Payable systems. What will I be doing? Under general supervision expressed in terms of objectives, priorities, and deadlines, supports the delivery of the corporate Accounts Payable activities in a timely manner to meet corporate KPI’s. Ensures overall compliance with Metrolinx procedures, policies, legislation/regulations, collective agreements, etc., defers to management to address any issues of non-compliance for guidance and direction. Participates in the evaluation and testing of AP system technology products and makes recommendations; develops and test all AP system changes and related system interfaces. Monitor the invoice hold exception process and ensures timely resolution. Monitors the Corporate KPIs and AP team’s performances and escalates to Assistant Manager any issues for process improvements. Reports on day-to-day transaction processing as it relates to and is tied to production KPIs. Ensures payment runs audits and validations are complete. Prepares and updates documentation on AP procedures and processes as required to document processes and SOPs. Supports business units and the vendor community to resolve problems and exchange information. Provides input into accounts payable policies and processes to ensure that adequate AP systems, procedures, and controls are in place. What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need? Completion of a post-secondary school diploma in Accounting or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent. Demonstrated experience as an Accounts Payable supervisor, ideally within a unionized environment. Possession of a professional accounting designation such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) would be an asset. Principles and practices of the accounts payable function and related activities. Ability to handle responsibilities independently, with minimal supervision, while working as a team player. Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) with particular proficiency in Excel. Experience with a large ERP system is a must. Oracle experience is an asset. Problem solving and communication skills oral/written communication skills to complete transactions, recommend and implement process initiatives, and maintain accounts payable records. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments. Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines in a fast-paced environment. Don’t Meet Every Requirement?
