ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

CAPABILITIES

The candidate must have experience in:

  • Assisting with the analysis, curation, and presentation of operational and financial data.
  • Using basic database management systems and querying data.
  • Communicating analytical results in a clear and understandable way.
  • Supporting the creation of business reports and documentation related to data analytics.
  • Developing simple reports to provide actionable information to decision-makers.
  • Working with stakeholders to understand their data needs and providing appropriate solutions.
  • Assisting in solving data-related problems and improving processes.

The key responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Assist with the communication of data insights and reports to various teams and leadership.
  • Support the development and implementation of business reports and data processes.
  • Review and support audits of financial and operational data sets.
  • Help identify potential improvements in processes and data usage.
  • Develop and maintain familiarity with software systems that store and manage business data.
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests, working with systems and stakeholders to extract and prepare data.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • A relevant degree in fields such as accounting, finance, actuarial science, data science, business analytics, or statistics.
  • 1-3 years of progressive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools for data visualization and reporting.

Desirable:

  • Experience in captial works administration or finance
Responsibilities

This role is located in the Commercial and Programs Unit; Maintenance Delivery Branch; Asset Management Division, and will support the Unit’s efforts to:

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of accurate and timely reporting on key projects and programs.
  • Assist in maintaining effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement of work processes and team culture.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable ministerial directions and operational goals.
  • Contribute to the implementation of assurance program outcomes and approved recommendations
