Responsibilities
  • Support the development, implementation, and interpretation of education data indicators at a pan Canadian level
  • Plan, prepare, and chair meetings with partner agencies and provincial/territorial working group members from provinces and territories
  • Coordinate and conduct data collections for national and international surveys (both recurrent and ad hoc)
  • Ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy of data collected from provinces and territories and shared with partner and international agencies
  • Support expert-level sessions and work (e.g., item development, provincial and territorial reviews) and develop corresponding materials or outputs (such as preparing supporting meeting materials or compiling pan-Canadian information and responses)
  • Work with partner agencies, such as Statistics Canada, to support and advance current joint projects, such as the Pan-Canadian Education Indicators Program (PCEIP)
  • Develop, prepare, and review meeting agendas, procedures, publications, communications, and informational materials (including research summaries, briefing notes, FAQs, infographics, and presentations)
  • Research education data best practices and make continued improvements to existing data collection guidelines, practices, and procedures
  • Work proactively with provincial and territorial representatives to establish consensus on education data priorities
  • Conduct data analysis and reporting on education trends across Canada (these can involve large-scale data sets and the production of notes for education decision-makers and other interested parties)
  • Conduct thorough research, literature reviews, and scans to collect information on provincial/territorial education data policies, initiatives, and programs
