SUMMARY:

Assists in the administration of various employee benefit plans such as life, health, dental, and disability insurances by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the eligibility management of a book of business consisting of groups of all sizes.
  • Enroll new employees in benefit plans.
  • Process status changes such as terminations, life events, salary updates, etc. with applicable carriers.
  • Process open enrollment elections with applicable carriers.
  • Track transactions in benefit administration systems or via reporting.
  • Maintain records confirming transactions.
  • Perform eligibility and billing audits as needed, and work to correct discrepancies with client or carrier.
  • Maintain vendor contact to investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations.
  • Assist account management teams in resolving eligibility issues or providing back up for transactions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Individual must have a basic knowledge of group insurance products and have managed eligibility transactions with major carriers (including but not limited to CareFirst, IBC, other BCBS regions such as FL and LA, UHC, Cigna, Aetna, and Kaiser).
  • Individual must have a working knowledge of the Microsoft suite, primarily Excel and Outlook.
  • Prior use of Employee Navigator, Ease, Rippling, and/or Zenefits is preferred.
