ABOUT THE TEAM

Financial Services partners with all areas of CommBank to provide specialist advice on financial management and strategy. This advice covers finance, audit, treasury, investor relations, property, procurement and security.
The Group Support Services Finance (GSSF) team is part of Group Finance, partnering with senior leadership of the bank’s Financial Services, Marketing, Strategy, Risk, Human Resources and Legal functions. GSSF manages the end-to-end finance functions for these support units and collaborates regularly with the other business unit finance teams throughout the organisation. The team manages a significant portion of the Group’s cost base and has direct engagement and exposure to many members of the Bank’s senior leadership team.

• Maintain robust financial control through: Processing of month end journals and Balance sheet analysis, substantiation and reconciliation
• Management reporting: successfully own the month-end process and P&L analysis including presentation of month end results, and complete monthly submissions to Group Finance
• Report the monthly result to senior business stakeholders across portfolios
• Business partnering: work closely with stakeholders to track performance against budget, and apply financial and accounting acumen to assist with decision making
• Process improvement, standardization and simplification preparation, presentation and monitoring of annual budgets and rolling forecasts following extensive engagement with key stakeholders
• Positively contribute to team culture and the work environment
