Job Summary The Human Resource Information System (HRIS) Analyst is responsible for gathering requirements, configuring system functionality, and performing end‑to‑end testing to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. The role partners with stakeholders to promote the effective use of HR technologies and supports the full lifecycle of configuration activities—from design and development through deployment and stabilization—across platforms such as SAP SuccessFactors (Recruitment, Performance, Talent & Succession), Cornerstone On Demand (Learning Management System (LMS)), Percipio/Skillsoft, Cority OHS, ServiceNow HRSD, Sodales GMS, and integrated third‑party tools used for recruitment, assessments, and surveys. The incumbent also provides technical support, documentation, training, and governance oversight, while working collaboratively with HR, IT, and vendors to ensure reliable, efficient, and scalable HR system operations. Main Responsibilities · Gather and translate business requirements from internal stakeholders into clear system specifications. · Design and optimize HR processes within supported systems to ensure alignment with business needs. · Configure, test, and validate system functionalities across modules such as Recruitment, Onboarding, Learning, Performance, and HRSD. · Deploy new configurations and enhancements into Production while ensuring smooth transition and minimal disruption. · Monitor and maintain the stability, integrity, and reliability of implemented modules, including security roles and group structures. · Coordinate with IT teams to integrate third‑party platforms, ensuring accurate data flow and system interoperability. · Provide training, demonstrations, and documentation to HR groups to support adoption of new functionalities. · Conduct regression testing for system upgrades and releases to ensure continued functionality and compliance. · Analyze post‑implementation outcomes, troubleshoot issues, and perform audits to ensure adherence to governance practices. · Prepare standard reports and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and enhance system value. Working Conditions The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday and is eligible to participate in CN’s hybrid work model. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and manage stress. Requirements Experience Human Resource Information System · Between 3 to 5 years of experience configuring HRIS modules and supporting system operations. · Between 3 to 5 years of experience in Microsoft Office Suite products* · Between 3 to 5 years of experience in performing Business Analysis* · Between 1 to 3 years of experience working with AI‑driven and automation tools* · Between 1 to 2 years of experience applying Quality Assurance practices* · Between 1 to 2 years of experience in Release Management* · Experience working with the Learning Management System (LMS) module within Cornerstone.* *Any experience for these above would be considered as an asset Education/Certification/Designation · Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or equivalent · Any HRIS related certification* · Any certification in project management, agile/scrum management* · Any vendor certification across relevant HR technologies, such as SuccessFactors, Cornerstone OnDemand, ServiceNow HRSD, Cority, Sodales, Microsoft 365, or equivalent industry-recognized credentials.* *Any designation for these above would be considered as an asset Competencies · Knows the business and stays current on industry news · Applies critical thinking · Innovates · Sets direction and inspires others · Delegates and empowers to create accountability · Communicates with impact · Collaborates with others and shares information · Demonstrates active listening · Solves problems to create value Technical Skills/Knowledge · Working knowledge of core HR processes, including recruitment, performance management, learning, and survey administration. · Knowledge of the Agile methodology · Knowledge of Project Management · Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint) to support reporting and collaboration. · Excellent communication skills with the ability to operate autonomously and collaboratively while prioritizing workloads effectively. · Knowledge of the rail transportation, logistics, or other high‑pressure industries* · Fluently bilingual both written and verbal (English, French)* *Any knowledge for any of the above would be considered as an asset About CN CN is a premium railroad that sustainably generates value for our customers, shareholders, employees, and stakeholders with an unwavering commitment to safety and service.
