The School of Engineering, Liverpool John Moores University is seeking to appoint a part-time analyst (0.1fte) for 14 months fixed term to join an exciting research and innovation project jointly funded by Innovate UK and the South Korean government to contribute to the development of optimisation and simulation models for better connecting ports and ships.
You will act as an analyst to assist on the development of optimisation algorithms for shipping voyage, including assistance on the process of gathering data and integration.
You are expected to work closely with other partners to understand their research and development within the project, and to identify any area that we can provide assistance with.
Working with the team, you will also engage with industry partners to gather necessary data for the research. This may also include working with the LJMU simulators to create new simulation scenarios and/or collect data from the simulator.
It is expected that you will have demonstrable experience with developing optimisation algorithms for maritime. Experience communicating with external partners, especially those in marine/maritime industry, is also desirable.
