About the role

As an Analyst, Insights & Data within/Lines Operational Integration & Performance Team, you will leverage operational and customer data to deliver insights that support business performance, operational excellence and customer experience outcomes.

Working across a variety of datasets, you'll develop reporting solutions, identify trends and opportunities, and provide analyses that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key accountabilities include:

• Analyse operational and customer data to identify trends, performance insights and improvement opportunities.
• Present analytical findings and insights to stakeholders across the business, translating complex data into clear recommendations that support informed decision-making.
• Develop, maintain and enhance dashboards, reports and analytics solutions to support business decision-making.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity and consistency of key operational and customer datasets.
• Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to investigate business challenges, evaluate performance and identify data-driven solutions. 
• Drive continuous improvement through the enhancement of data platforms, automation of reporting processes and the use of data-led insights

About you:

You are an analytical and adaptable professional who enjoys turning data into meaningful insights. You thrive in a dynamic environment, partnering with stakeholders to solve problems, support operational change, and drive continuous improvement.

Additionally, you will hold:

• Demonstrated experience analysing and interpreting complex data, using SQL and other databases, data warehousing, reporting and/or analytical tools to generate meaningful business insights and support decision-making.
• Experience working in an operational environment, with exposure to transport, logistics, infrastructure or other service-focused industries is highly regarded.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations to varied audiences.
• A curious, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• A tertiary qualification in data analytics, statistics, data science, business analytics or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

• This position will be paid in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administration Employees Agreement 2023 and is classified at the Clerk C2-C4 level, with a base salary ranging from $95,026 to $105,716 per annum, plus superannuation.
