The Investment Performance & Portfolio Oversight (IP&PO) team of TDAM is responsible for investment governance, risk management, compliance monitoring, and performance analytics across traditional and alternative asset classes. The group also manages external manager and unique vendor research, conducts due diligence and sub-advisor oversight, and performs ad hoc risk evaluations

Main responsibilities:

  • Support the Global Investment Funds Special Vendor Engagement Oversight program, the Sub-advisor Due Diligence and the Performance teams
  • Vendor Engagement support focuses on operational risk analysis of third-party vendors, especially those offering alternative structured products internationally.
  • Develop knowledge of global regulatory, compliance environments, and internal third-party risk management tools.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Regulatory Policy and Governance, Product, Compliance, Legal) and external vendors to gather regulatory, compliance, and due diligence information, and resolve issues.
  • Learn about legal contracts, cybersecurity, and financial crimes risk management related to vendor due diligence.
  • Work with the Sub-advisor Due Diligence and Performance teams by calculating, validating, and testing performance reports and client statements, investigating discrepancies, and preparing reports.
  • Engage in personal development, including cross-training within the IP&PO team and pursuing industry certifications.
  • Monitor emerging trends and share relevant updates within the group.

Requirements:

  • Ideally, 2+ years’ experience in a similar or regulatory or operational risk role
  • Solid understanding of the Asset Management / Investment Firms
  • Strong communication skills and presence with the ability to speak with impact, influence outcomes, simplify complex topics into actionable recommendations for decision making.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret regulatory rules and legal contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cross-functionally with employees at all levels and develop effective working relationships
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritize, multi-task, and maintain flexibility in fast-paced, changing environment
  • Programming and database management experience will be considered an asset. Skill in SQL and Python considered an asset
  • Post-Secondary Degree in Finance, Investments, Economics, Mathematics/Statistics, Law or related field
  • Skill in Microsoft Office (advanced excel)
