RELEVANT EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in HPLC ,GC or LCMS.
  • Minimum 2 year Chemistry Lab experience.
  • Ability to conduct complex sample preparation.
  • Understand the principle of Chemistry and Instrumentation, proven ability for problem solving and trouble shooting skills
  • Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or related discipline
  • Familiar with LIMS
  • Good communication and reporting skills
  • Capacity to work effectively as part of a team, excellent team player
  • Demonstrable knowledge of OHS requirements within a laboratory
  • Strong customer focus
  • Excellent time management
    Safety is an absolute. Ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing and the ability to meet site inductions will be a requirement of working on site.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

BVAQ Chemistry Department is seeking to appoint one permanent Chemistry Analyst IV who will be directly responsible for conducting a wide range of routine, specialised and complex tests where atypical samples may be involved and the instrumentation has a wide range of operating variables. They have thorough understanding of the tests, underpinning scientific principles, systems and procedures to facilitate problem solving and troubleshooting.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out variable tests according to SOPs and methods, processing and checking results
  • Assisting with routine calibration and maintenance of instruments
  • Ability to prioritise work in order to meet daily deadlines
  • Interpreting test results and performing calculations
  • Understanding and applying the principles of the measurement of uncertainty
  • Applying the quality system and continuous improvement processes
  • Maintaining workplace safety
  • Plus any other duties as required, as matched to your competence and ability to perform.
  • Review and release results to clients, provide training and guidance to junior staff.
