MSALABS is an experienced global provider of geochemical laboratory services to the exploration and mining industries in Canada, the USA and around the world. We have a rapidly growing network of laboratories in key mining regions around the world to limit lead times and transit costs and we employ the latest hi-tech analysis equipment.
We are looking for a dedicated and detail orientated self-starter who has the following skills and experience:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Detail orientated and ability to work very well under pressure.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • BSc or Technical Diploma in Chemistry or a scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 0-3 years’ experience in a commercial laboratory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be fit and able to perform the inherent requirements of the job.
    Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
    Contract length: 12 months
    Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Carry out Data Approval procedures in accordance with documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or recognized standard reference methods.
  • Report any deviation from documented procedures to the Spectroscopy & Data Approval Manager.
  • Sign and Issue Test Reports when authorization is received.
  • Inform the Spectroscopy & Data Approval Manager of any nonconforming event related to customer samples, or other departmental operations.
  • Inform the Spectroscopy & Data Approval Manager conditions within the department.
  • Act in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire.
  • Monitor the performance of the equipment and QCs and report all deviations to the Data Approval shift lead or manager.
  • Practicing good housekeeping.
  • Communicate general laboratory issues to Spectroscopy & Data Approval Manager as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.
