Description

ABOUT US

The Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO) supports members of parliament to inform policy development and debate in parliament and the Victorian community. To do this, we provide independent, authoritative, and timely research and analysis services across a wide range of topics.
Our team is crucial to the quality of our services and engagement with our client base. To deliver across the breadth of requests for our work, we require a diverse mix of experience and expertise, and proactive leadership.

We provide on request client services to members of parliament including:

  • Policy costings - an assessment of the budget impact of a policy
  • Advice - a report into a topic with an economic, fiscal or financial impact on the state of Victoria.

Working at the PBO provides a unique opportunity to support the Parliament of Victoria and policy development by parties across the Parliament. When Victorian MPs publicly release our products, you may see the impact of your analysis and research on policy development, and parliamentary and public debate. More than any other office supporting Victorian MPs, working at the PBO will give you exposure to policies from across all functions of government and the political spectrum.

To deliver our services to Members of Parliament, we need people who have experience and expertise in:

  • policy assessment
  • economic modelling
  • government budget analysis
  • quantitative analysis
  • research (including qualitative, economic, social or policy research
