WHAT YOU’LL NEED

We want you to join our team! Here’s what we’re looking for:

EDUCATION

  • Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) or Professional Diploma (DEP) in administration, accounting option OR equivalent experience
  • NPA accreditation

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a similar role, in a company with 5000 employees or more.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Experience with Workday, BlackLine, PDI and SharePoint an asset;
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office software: Excel (RECHERCHEV, RECHERCHEX, Tableau croisé dynamique), Word, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Demonstrated experience as a payroll analyst and payroll accountant;
  • Excellent in-depth analytical skills to detect numerical errors, research and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent stress and priority management skills;
  • Be meticulous yet fast, detail-oriented and consistent;
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines;
  • Demonstrate versatility, autonomy and confidentiality in handling files;
  • Demonstrate teamwork skills and excellent customer service.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Bilingualism required (Advanced French and English), both written and spoken, as the person will be called upon to serve English-speaking regions.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Payroll, the Analyst will be responsible for providing strong analytical expertise in payroll accounting and financing. This person will interact with internal and external auditors, answer technical questions and ensure that appropriate controls are implemented to avoid audit exceptions.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Analyze and prepare journal entries in PDI for Canada, Liability accounts (i.e. benefits, CPP and EI) ;
  • Analyze and prepare balance sheet account reconciliations in BlackLine for Canada, Liability accounts (i.e. benefits, CPP and EI);
  • Prepare period-end process;
  • Deposit and code various payroll-related cheques and payments received;
  • Prepare source deduction remittances to governments;
  • Prepare intercos as required;
  • Review all discrepancies as part of the investigation and resolution processes, perform root cause analysis where necessary, recommend intervention procedures and communicate discrepancies;
  • Responsible for updating, maintaining and processing documentation;
  • Year-end support;
  • Participate in projects and activities as required and assigned.
