The Privacy Engineering Analyst will support the privacy engineering team that is responsible for managing the DaVita Privacy by Design (PbD), personal data loss prevention (DLP) and application logging and monitoring (ALM) programs. This role will work in partnership with other legal department functions, the IT Security Team, and the business. Particular focus will be projects regarding ALM, DLP, data inventory and mapping, data security, access management, HIPAA Security, privacy law compliance including privacy rights management, privacy incident response, privacy-by-design for application development, and supporting other projects in the Privacy Office.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a technology, healthcare, or business
  • One or more of the following is preferred:
  • Privacy and/or data security related experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Compliance experience
  • Audit or assessment experience
  • HIPAA, privacy and/or security certifications
  • CIPP/US or other IAPP Certification
  • Experience in healthcare and dealing with HIPAA, GDPR and/or CCPA regulations is strongly desired
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Solid technology skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to quickly determine issues that need escalation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentations) and the ability to drive execution in a team environment
  • Must be self-motivated, team player with proven ability to identify issues and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment while striving for practical business solutions
  • Hands on, efficient and proven ability to “Get Stuff Done” with a bias for action and a strong sense of ownership

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ healthcare reimbursement experience preferred ; experience with admissions, billing, and collections preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of insurance rules, regulations and Coordination of Benefits for federal, state, and managed care payors in multiple states preferred
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required

Responsibilities
  • Reports to the Privacy Engineering Lead and Director, Privacy for Team SHIELD (DaVita Privacy Office)
  • Supports privacy-by-design, data inventory and mapping, data loss prevention and application logging and monitoring program tasks
  • Project management and documentation, to include leading some projects and assisting on others
  • Leads special projects as requested by the Team SHIELD leadership
  • Respond to reported and detected potential privacy incidents through full remediation.
  • Serve as a resource for privacy issues and questions and coordinate responses as necessary
  • Assist Privacy Engineering Lead and Director, Privacy on other assigned tasks as needed
