OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Programmer Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in programming and data analysis, with the ability to vaticinate trends and insights from complex datasets. This role is pivotal in supporting our data-driven decision-making processes and enhancing our technological capabilities.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of working on commercial websites in C#.net and SQL is essential.
  • Experience of working in MVC or VB.NET would be an advantage.
  • A good understanding of the basic elements of developing and supporting systems in a Microsoft environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Software/application development in C#, VB in .Net Framework on Windows & Linux
  • Good exposure on GUI design using VB / C# .Net framework, system Architecture design.
  • Technical knowledge of Server set up would be an advantage.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good experience of Software development life cycle - software design, analysis, coding and testing.
  • Proven time management and organisational skills.
  • Possession of an ordered and disciplined approach to software development, including writing and executing comprehensive test plans in order to ensure all software and systems are robust, efficient and of high quality.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.

QUALIFICATION

  • Should have a minimum of 5 years of technology experience with at least 3 years hands-on technical roles in the field and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications.
  • Technical experience with systems networking, databases, Web development, and user support.
  • Good background in Data Base design in Microsoft SQL and Access.
  • Background in Microsoft .NET, Visual Basic, Excel, Word, Outlook and HTML.
  • Good working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project.
  • Strong project management skills with effective results focus within an information systems environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities;
  • Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure on-call environment with changing priorities.
  • Willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
  • Post-secondary degree in computer science or related field or a combination of related experience and education.
  • A results oriented individual who thrives working in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Software programming and development of products based on the client requirements.
  • Developing, programming and testing new and existing software products.
  • Scoping and documenting business requirements, functional and technical specifications for new and existing applications.
  • Conducting full and final integration tests for module compatibility.
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting client software issues.
  • Taking ownership of aligned projects and delivering them on time and within the budget.
  • Ensure that all development activities are carried out efficiently to a very high standard and that they adhere to the methodologies and standards in place.
  • Managing personal work load to meet deadlines.
  • Assimilating and using new technologies and languages.
  • Investigate and resolve application functionality related issues and provide first level support and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the IT network team to discuss progress and issues to be resolved, and report progress on a weekly basis to the CIO.
  • Assist in the creation of the system design and functional specifications for all new development projects.
  • Participate on IT project steering committees and be involved in the design phase of any new IT software development projects.
  • Provide assistance and advice to business users in the effective use of applications and information technology.
  • Analyse data contained in the corporate database and identify data integrity issues with existing and proposed systems and implement solutions.
