The Enterprise Risk Management and Risk Oversight (ERMRO) organization within Global Risk and Compliance (GRC) is responsible for identifying and managing risk across all business units, functions, processes, and geographies at American Express. The Analyst – Risk Data Aggregation & Risk Reporting position is part of the GRC organization. This role supports the development of risk data aggregation and risk reporting capabilities for business risk analysis at AXP. Responsibilities include establishing a risk data aggregation and risk reporting framework, as well as providing independent risk management for non-model tools used in business processes and strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement data and technology infrastructure that supports reporting needs and ensures the appropriate capture and reporting of materials risks, concentrations, and emerging risks. Work closely with Enterprise Data Office (EDO) and Business Unit Data Offices (BUDOs) to ensure appropriate controls are put in place for data used in risk reporting. Establish and implement a standardized and periodic assessment of risk reporting systems, tools, and processes. This assessment must be performed at least annually to ensure risk oversight systems, tools, and processes evolve with changing data sources. Design a framework to assess the materiality and manage governance of non-model tools used in business processes and strategic decisions. Provide independent oversight on non-model tools used in critical business processes within the company like min due calculator, ADB calculation etc. Provide effective challenge on statistical and other technical calculations used in development of non-model tools used in business processes and strategic decisions. Collaborate effectively with all stakeholders, partners and IAG to ensure regulatory compliance and manage regulatory relationships and exams for safety & soundness related regulations. Minimum Qualifications 0-2 years of experience in risk management or a similar role. Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics). Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to apply both quantitative methods and business skills to create insights and drive results. Familiarity with regulatory guidance on risk data aggregation and risk reporting like OCC Heightened Standards and BCBS239 is preferred. Strong analytical skills, including a proving ability to translate complex and disparate information to develop a comprehensive and cohesive conclusion for colleagues, business partners, and senior leaders. Ability to work independently and across a matrix organization partnering with business partners, functional owners, capabilities, technology teams and external vendors. Rigorous and analytical approach to problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization collaboration across teams/geographies. Proactive in identifying issues, delivering and escalating key findings, and advising on recommended solutions to correct issues or mitigate risks. This role is required to be on-site 3 days/week.
