Job Role / Responsibilities: Reporting to the Manager, Service Delivery, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) solutions that enhance business processes and digital services across AKU. The role involves developing intelligent applications using advanced models, APIs, and frameworks; integrating AI capabilities into existing systems; and ensuring scalable, efficient, and ethical use of AI technologies in line with institutional standards. Designing, developing, and deploying AI and ML models using Python and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn. Building, fine-tuning, and integrating large language models (LLMs) into business applications and workflows. Developing AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants using Azure OpenAI, LangChain, Rasa, or similar frameworks. Implementing speech-to-text (STT) and text-to-speech (TTS) capabilities using Azure Cognitive Services, Whisper, or other AI-based tools. Deploying and managing AI models on cloud and local GPU environments (e.g., NVIDIA RTX) to ensure performance optimization and data privacy. Building and integrating intelligent APIs into enterprise systems to automate workflows and enhance user experience. Working with structured and unstructured data for training, evaluation, and embedding-based semantic search. Implementing and managing vector databases such as FAISS, Pinecone, or Azure Cognitive Search for knowledge retrieval. Conducting model validation, performance tuning, and monitoring to ensure scalability, reliability, and ethical compliance. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements, evaluate feasibility, and deliver end-to-end AI solutions. Maintaining documentation, version control, and reproducibility of AI models using Git and standardized development practices. Evaluating emerging AI frameworks, tools, and research advancements for continuous innovation. Supporting compliance and audit processes related to AI model governance, data privacy, and information security. Participating in internal workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, and AI literacy initiatives within the institution. Eligibility Criteria / Requirements: You should have: a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized institution. Certification in AI/ML technologies such as Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate would be an advantage. a minimum of two to three years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying AI or machine learning models, APIs, or intelligent applications. Proven experience with Python for AI/ML development using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or OpenAI SDKs. Exposure to cloud-based AI services such as Azure AI, Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI, or similar platforms. Experience in backend or API development using C#, Python, or Node.js. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases for data management and model training. Strong programming skills in Python, C#, and JavaScript with expertise in AI/ML libraries and frameworks. Knowledge of machine learning concepts such as model training, embeddings, fine-tuning, and evaluation metrics. Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and prompt engineering. Understanding of MLOps workflows, data pipelines, and model deployment processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and optimization. Effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to translate complex AI concepts into practical business applications. Commitment to ethical AI development, data governance, and institutional compliance. Self-motivated, collaborative, and adaptable to emerging AI technologies and frameworks.
