The store network comprises a total of 623 stores in 21 countries, of which 522 offer out-of-store delivery (OOS), and 94 dedicated depots. In 12 countries, METRO runs only the delivery business by its delivery companies (Food Service Distribution, FSD). HoReCa and Traders are core customer groups of METRO. Website: https://www.metro-gsc.in Company Size: 1000-1100 Headquarters: Pune, Maharashtra, India Type: Privately Held Inception: 2011 Job Description To ensure the appropriate goods availability in the stores and the distribution centers while optimizing the inventory level, the logistic cost and the profitability. To use the sales forecast in order to plan the stock in the optimum way across the distribution network of the company by placing the appropriate orders to suppliers and to distribution centers. To collaborate with suppliers in order to manage the order fulfillment, to ensure that all delivery conditions are defined based on customer needs and to improve over time the OTIF. Operational activities - Is responsible for the availability of the active assortment and the stock level for the assigned articles, categories, suppliers and locations (combination of warehouses & stores) Places all purchasing orders for all Metro locations (stores, warehouses, distribution centre, depot/hub) for all flow types (Central Stock, Cross-Docking and Direct Store Delivery), in line with the sales forecast provided by the Demand Planning team, target availability, target stock days and the fulfilment constrains (e.g. lead times, order/delivery schedules, MOQ, etc.). Proactively challenges the status quo of the delivery conditions and works with the other departments to adapt them to the customer needs (e.g. reduce lead time, increase frequency of delivery, reduce Minimum Order Quantity/Value, etc.). Optimizes orders (at full pallet and or full truck if needed) and deliver supplier conditions in order to achieve the target saturation levels. Revises the exceptions generated by the planning tools, taking action in order to resolve them, when needed in collaboration with other departments and with suppliers Manages the open orders and the delivery schedule of the assigned suppliers, contacting them when needed in order to keep a clean portfolio of open orders and an accurate delivery plan for the Logistic colleagues. When needed creates and manages push orders to the stores in order to ensure the availability (e.g. introduction of new product, promotion, implementation of the new collection, etc.) and reduce the stock (clean-up remaining stock of delisted articles in distribution centre, short shelf life, etc.). Manages the customer orders communicated by the store organization. Manages fulfilment in terms of product Lifecycle (Phase-in, Phase out) Continuous improvement - Signals opportunities for improvement and takes action to work out and implement them: Optimize E2E the fulfilment efficiency across the entire logistics network Works pro-actively on reducing out of stocks and over stock. Structurally informs the organization about out of stocks and over stocks, contributes in finding and implementing a solution Collaborates with Logistic colleagues in order to ensure that the delivery plan fits with capacity constrains (Good Receiving, Picking number, etc.) and reduce logistic costs. Collaboration – Work together on a daily basis with colleagues of other functions to optimize the service to our customers: Monitors closely the open orders and non-deliveries and searches actively solutions, together with suppliers, logistic services and offer team. Participate in Collaborative forecast process together with Suppliers and Supplier Collaboration team Anticipates and informs the organization on the (potential) shortage of the critical assortment (e.g. high rotating articles, promotion, core, fsd, own brand, etc.,) and defines & steers the recovery plans in order to limit the duration of out of stock. Reports to the Master Data team any inconsistent data that might jeopardize the order optimization Proactively suggests, executes and follows up any opportunities of smart/forward buying to improve profitability consistently with the stock target. Qualifications Minimum of bachelor degree in Economy/Business Administration, Supply Chain as an advantage. Ability in the usage of IT applications (e.g. MMS), Advanced capability to use Microsoft Office package, Fluent in professional English and local languages Attention to detail and accuracy.
