ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Team: Upstream Solutions from S&P Global Commodity Insights comprise some of the most extensive and complete information, analytics, insight, and advisory services in the world. We deliver oil and gas databases and software, energy transition insight, energy supply and demand forecasts, and comprehensive data on transactions at the global and regional market levels. The S&P Global Upstream Solutions Basins offering provides critical geological information and insight which supports a variety of products within S&P Global’s Commodity Insights Upstream Solutions organization. The core basins team comprises experienced geoscientists and has a global footprint with key locations in Geneva, Houston, Kuala Lumpur and Tetbury (UK)

RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

Conduct comprehensive basin research focused on the Europe region.
Maintenance of the IRIS21 database (Geological Provinces, Petroleum Systems, Plays & Stratigraphy) and of geological spatial layers to support our global coverage
Develop and implement methodologies to analyze geological data and provide actionable insights.
Collaborate with regional teams to ensure the integration of research findings into broader strategic initiatives.
Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations to stakeholders.
Support the development of new research projects and contribute to innovation within the team.
What We’re Looking For:Basic Required Qualifications:
A highly motivated, personable and collaborative individual who is a dynamic, articulate, well-rounded, critical thinker and has a commercial mindset
A Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related field.
Experience in basin research or a related role, ideally within the Europe region.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze geological data.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
