What Transportation contributes to Cardinal Health Transportation is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing and the customer. Management of transportation assets and systems to gain greater service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes. Qualifications: BA/BS degree is preferred Minimum 3 years work experience in BPO or customer service (inclusive of 1 year in current role) U.S. geography and logistics or transportation management experience is preferred Previous experience with a Transportation Management System (ie: MercuryGate) Intermediate analytical, problem solving, critical thinking skills Intermediate to advance communication skills (verbal & written) and customer focus Ability to follow SOPs and pays attention to details Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office products (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) Ability to multi-task and process work in multiple systems and applications (i.e. TMS, SalesForce, SAP, etc.) Ability to work in a collaborative environment and train and coach others Ability to handle a fast-paced environment What is expected of you and others at this level Applies basic concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform routine tasks Works on projects of limited scope and complexity Follows established procedures to resolve readily identifiable technical problems Works under direct supervision and receives detailed instructions Develops competence by performing structured work assignments Job Responsibilities We assist customers with their large freight shipping needs by working directly with carriers and vendors to ensure the best level of service is provided. Perform analysis, scheduling and planning of inbound/outbound shipments to ensure on-time pickup and delivery while ensuring most economical utilization of carriers based on service parameters. Rate potential transactions using Transportation Management System or other pricing tools in order to optimize carrier selection. Utilize personal creativity, routing expertise, knowledge of carrier capabilities, and previous experience to resolve customer problems, overcome logistics challenges, and exceed customer expectations. Monitor shipments that are in-process to proactively resolve potential service issues. Interface with customers, shippers, and carriers to resolve any problems associated with scheduling and dispatching. Collaborate with team members and leadership in the continual improvement of Logistics Solutions processes. Assist with the identification, development, and implementation of programs or methods to improve Logistics Solutions’ customer and business results. Perform record and data management activities within critical business systems. Assist with other tasks or projects as assigned. Provide quotes for large freight shipments Schedule shipment pickups: Less-than-Truckload (LTL) Truckload/heavyweight Capital equipment Schedule shipments with specialty services: Time critical White glove Special handling International Inside pickup/delivery Assist with solutions for large freight issues: Lost freight Document requests Proactive shipment tracking Reconsignment Rebills for in-transit shipments Candidates who are back-to-work, people with disabilities, without a college degree, and Veterans are encouraged to apply.
