QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. . Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in the areas of expertise.
  • Professional qualification such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA desirable.
  • Relevant experience in venture capital, investment banking, consulting, or a related field.
  • Quantitative/numerical skills are critical with the ability to interpret financial information and to design and use financial models.
  • Credit analysis skills, with the ability to interpret accounts, understanding local and international accounting principles and practice of credit analysis.
  • Computer literacy, conversant with Microsoft Office and spread sheet packages including financial analysis and modelling modules.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling software (e.g. Excel, Google Sheets)
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and to deadlines and under time pressure.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Good command over a local/country language is an advantage.
  • Experience in a specific sector relevant to the fund’s investment focus.
  • Experience working with startups and interacting with founders on a regular basis.
  • Programming or other computer science related knowledge.
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities such as entrepreneurship, hackathons, etc.
Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF JOB

The Analyst contributes to all phases of the investment process, including deal sourcing, structuring, execution, implementation and monitoring.
The Analyst will take responsibility for the tasks assigned to them by the operation leader or more senior members of the project team, or more senior bankers, which may include undertaking comprehensive due diligence, including financial, market, integrity and EBRD policy compliance, as well as effective post-signing implementation and monitoring.
The Analyst carries out these tasks as part of a project team under the guidance of the operation leader or under the supervision/guidance of more senior bankers.
The EBRD Venture Capital team manages €600mn across four funds and invests typically in Series A and later rounds in transformative technology companies across different sectors. We partner with exceptional founders to build enduring businesses that have a positive impact on the world.
