Description
Who Are We? At CMLS Financial, we strike a unique balance: the financial strength of a 50-year industry leader with the energy of a dynamic, fast-paced firm. Growth & Exposure: With over $45 billion in assets under administration, our "booming" business means you gain high-level exposure and real opportunities for career advancement. Supportive Culture: We are professional yet enjoyable. We provide a challenging environment supported by a team that wants you to succeed. National Reach: Work with Canada’s most prominent banks, investment managers, and pension funds from a platform with offices coast to coast. Join CMLS Financial as an Analyst in our Construction Finance group, where you will help drive the operational side of a business. Working side-by-side with industry leaders, you will learn the ins and outs of complex commercial lending while managing the day-to-day logistics that keep our projects moving. Where You’ll Make An Impact: Manage Construction Draws: Review Cost Consultant reports, double-check construction budgets for accuracy, and draft the draw reports needed to help our team fund projects on time. Coordinate Post-Funding Details: Act as the operational bridge after a loan closes, tracking outstanding conditions and exchanging clear updates with internal funding teams, solicitors, and project inspectors. Streamline Team Workflows: Help keep our rapidly growing deal pipeline organized by handling routine system updates and using AI tools like Microsoft Copilot to automate repetitive administrative tasks. Build Your Underwriting Skills: Gradually learn the fundamentals of commercial real estate analysis by assisting senior team members with property valuations, borrower credit reviews, and market research. Support a High-Growth Team: Provide reliable, daily administrative and analytical support to a fast-paced team, ensuring no small detail falls through the cracks. What We Value: Post-secondary education in finance, economics, real estate, business administration, or a related field. You collaborate effectively across teams, but you are equally comfortable working independently to handle client communications and meet your deadlines. You are highly task-oriented and process-driven, with a proactive habit of looking for ways to optimize daily workflows. You welcome autonomous, results-based management, and you are excited to leverage modern AI tools. You possess a natural instinct for identifying inconsistencies in complex datasets and the persistence to investigate the "why" behind the numbers. One (1) year of experience in commercial real estate underwriting, valuation, risk, or credit analysis will be considered an asset. Proficiency in English and French will be considered an asset. Supporting Your Life at CMLS: Health & Wellness: Comprehensive insurance (Drug, Vision, Dental) & Health and Wellness Spending Accounts. Mental Support: 24/7 unlimited access to telemedicine, EAP, and mental health services for you and your family. Time Off: 4 weeks paid vacation, plus personal/sick days and all statutory holidays. Future Planning: RRSP Matching Program to help you build long-term wealth. Family Support: Robust Maternity and Parental Leave Top-Up programs. Professional Growth: Education reimbursement, mentoring, and continuous training. Equal Opportunity Employer CMLS Financial is an equal-opportunity employer.
