JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will focus on increasing operational value, eliminating waste, reducing costs, and improving overall service offering in the Eastern region distribution centers (DCs). The employee will provide key assistance and advice to the Operations team by conducting detailed analyses and preparing related reports. Critical responsibilities include planning, developing and maintaining operational projects and initiatives related to product flow, inventory management, layout planning and production optimization
Responsibilities:
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) of our operations, analyze and interpret trends, and identify problem areas using statistical techniques and suggest improvements.
- Plan the movement of material and units for promotional and seasonal products.
- Track KPIs and produce reports on supply chain performance and explain discrepancies.
- Develop standard procedures to optimize workflow locally or nationally.
- Evaluate issues, analyze root causes, and recommend improvements to maintain production integrity, consistency, and quality.
- Apply Lean and Six-Sigma methodology for problem solving to deploy solutions at regional distribution center.
- Develop a mapping of value streams and processes that will track the flow of materials and information from suppliers to customers.
- Act as an expert in your field, providing ideas, innovations, opinions, regionally and nationally.
- Develop and use appropriate metrics, analyses, and evaluation methods to accurately identify and document process improvements.
- Plan and assist in the implementation of supply chain optimization initiatives or projects related to operational changes – in the short and medium term – such as DC layout, warehouse areas, route planning, merchandise flow, capacity planning, inventory management, risk, breakage – quality and service.
- Ensure proper implementation of proposed projects, while considering schedules and efforts/budgets and impacts and follow up with collaborators and stakeholders.
- Assess issues, analyze root causes, and recommend improvements to maintain the integrity, consistency, and quality of distribution.
- Take action to mitigate risks related to changes and ongoing projects in collaboration with continuous improvement teams and DCs.
- Create and deliver quality presentations to inform, instruct, inspire, or influence.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in projects and report on milestones and successes.
- Collaborate with peers to achieve improvement goals in the national distribution network (flow, storage, layout, new products, and process changes).
- Contribute to the development of new process training materials and participate in the training of warehouse staff in all DCs.
- Actively support the creation of a culture of continuous improvement, the culture of excellence.
- Highlight potential risks and opportunities and formulate and execute process improvement, action, and mitigation plans.
Other tasks may be assigned, as appropriate, to ensure that the company’s objectives are met.
