Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director of IT, the incumbent of the position of Desktop and System Support, is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responding to requests and issues from users and IT support teams.
  • Monitor alerts and the status of the processing of the various applications.
  • Informing the user and/or IT support teams of the status of the request on a regular basis, and when a solution has been identified.
  • Develop and/or update support procedures.
  • Respond to user questions via phone, email, video calls to identify hardware and software issues and propose solutions in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Analyze situations, diagnose problems, while developing and implementing solutions within tight deadlines
  • Ensure proper escalation of problems during outages or periods of reduced service and follow up with the appropriate teams.
  • Communicate important information to the IT manager and document all information, updates and solutions applied.
  • Assist in the configuration, administration and support of laptops and other company hardware and software.
  • Oversee the testing, implementation, deployment, and training of technical solutions in the company’s various IT systems.
  • Improve IT performance by identifying problem areas and providing appropriate solutions.

  • Develop technical reference materials, including user guides and training manuals.
