About the assignment A WeQuel client within the pharmaceutical industry – AstraZeneca – is looking for an experienced Analytical Chemist (Scientist / Senior Scientist) to strengthen their analytical characterization team within Early Product Development and Manufacturing (EPDM). This is a lab-based role where you will contribute to early drug product development projects, supporting the portfolio up to Phase II, and play a key role in delivering high-quality analytical data for clinical development. Your role As an Analytical Chemist, you will work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment and contribute with strong analytical expertise to drug product development projects. The role combines hands-on laboratory work with scientific documentation and regulatory support. Key responsibilities include: Perform and document analytical experiments to support early drug product development Contribute analytical science to projects from early development up to Phase II Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams Support regulatory clinical trial applications (CTA) Drive scientific development within analytical science and contribute to continuous improvement Your background MSc or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or a related scientific discipline Strong experience in analytical science for pharmaceutical development Hands-on expertise in chromatography and relevant detection techniques for small molecules Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions A proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong delivery focus Meriting experience: Drug product development (e.g. oral solid dosage forms) CMC regulatory submissions and GMP-regulated environments Advanced analytical techniques such as MS, NMR, dissolution Interest or experience in automation, AI and digitalization within analytical science Why this assignment?
