QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Master’s degree in science, chemistry or Analytical Science. PhD is preferred
  • 5 years working experience in food or chemical company.
  • Hands on experience using analytical tools and maintenance of analytical instrumentation like GC, GC7MS, HPLC.
  • Knowledge of food-based analysis is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft.
  • Strong ability in GCMS data interpretation.
  • Meticulous attention to details and well-organized.
  • Adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-disciplined and work well under time pressure.
  • Ability to clarify, recognize and communicate priorities according to projects being worked on.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Good team player, willing to take challenges and keen to learn.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Analytical Scientist provides technical skills to support our taste & nutrition product development, troubleshooting, and technical communications with our internal other function groups and external customers. Analytical Scientist is expected to operate instrument independently, efficiently implement new methods and interpret analysis data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to good laboratory practices, good manufacturing practices and safety requirements.
  • Perform daily laboratory operations, routine and non-routine tasks, to include but not limited to sample analysis, data interpretation and test results reporting.
  • Perform operation and maintenance of analytical equipment (i.e., GC/FID, GC/MS, GC/MS/MS, balances, etc.)
  • Train laboratory technicians.
  • Facilitate troubleshooting activities associated with instrumentation, methodologies, and data validation.
  • Develop and implement new technologies in support of inter-departmental needs.
  • Evaluate and maintain contracted support agreements with instrument/software vendors.
  • Ensure analytical procedures are written and current.
  • Oversee the cataloging, formulation, and use of standards used for calibration, retention indices, and performance measurement.
  • Maintain detailed laboratory notebook, necessary project documentation, and organized filing system for records.
  • Implement and maintain statistical process controls and other data quality objectives.
  • Perform scheduled equipment maintenance and equipment/method calibrations.
  • Maintain GC gas supply by coordinating delivery schedule of gas cylinders and maintenance of gas generators.
  • Communicate priorities, instrument issues, and customer needs (internal and external) with management and other departments.
  • Purchase and maintain laboratory inventory.
  • Maintain incoming and outgoing test samples.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
