Headquartered in the idyllic Noosa, Australia our team has built a viable, scalable, and sustainable product development and biomanufacturing platform. We are now scaling operations, bringing products to global markets, and expanding our product development pipeline to meet the demand from our global customers. We have an exciting opportunity for an Analytical Chemist to join our team who will be responsible for developing new assays for biological compounds produced in algae. You will have demonstrated experience in extracting and purifying compounds from microbial and/or plant systems. A successful candidate in this role will reliably and rapidly develop new analytical methods. Job Title: Analytical Chemist Responsibilities: Engineer and refine methodologies for the detection, quantification, and purification of target compounds. Conduct cell-based extraction, purification, and analysis utilising techniques such as HPLC, LC-MS, GC, and GC-MS. Monitor and quantify levels of target products in real-time, relaying critical feedback to our synthetic biology and algae production teams for the enhancement of strains and photobioreactor conditions. Uphold laboratory records, contribute to laboratory organisation, and ensure seamless execution of experiments by managing inventory. Oversee the calibration and maintenance of instrumentation pertinent to the role, ensuring optimal operational conditions. Proactively pinpoint and execute initiatives to elevate laboratory operations, aligning with commercial objectives. Thrive in a brisk-paced setting with the capacity to realign workload based on shifting priorities and commercial goals Qualifications: Degree. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry, or a related discipline; or equivalent commercial experience in the industry. Hands-on experience with HPLC, LC-MS, GC, and GC-MS Proficiency in utilising Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Comprehensive understanding of modern biochemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, and analytical chemistry. Project management experience in a commercial or industry setting. Demonstrated commercial acumen and experience in translating analytical methods to commercial applications.
