Description
At MicroHarvest, we’re changing how the world makes protein — fast, sustainably, and with science at its core. Using the power of microorganisms, we create nutritious, scalable protein ingredients that help feed the planet — better. We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Analytical Sciences Technician to help us turn lab data into real impact. You’ll be part of the R&D engine that fuels our innovation, supporting analytical and molecular testing that keeps our science moving and our quality sky-high. This is your chance to join a passionate biotech startup where every experiment contributes directly to building a better food system. Tasks Make science happen: Perform analytical testing using HPLC, spectroscopy, and enzyme-based assays. Innovate in the lab: Develop and optimize analysis methods for in-house use. Support discovery: Carry out molecular biology work such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, and electrophoresis. Collaborate for impact: Work closely with scientists and engineers to generate reliable data and support experimental design. Keep our tools in top shape: Maintain and calibrate instruments, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth lab operation. Stay organized: Document your work precisely in ELNs and follow SOPs that ensure accuracy and reproducibility. Contribute to continuous improvement: Help refine workflows, reporting practices, and molecular testing standards. Requirements Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field (CTA/BTA/Associate’s/Bachelor’s). 1–3 years of lab experience in analytical or molecular settings (academic or industrial). Strong practical experience with HPLC and at least one of the following: spectroscopy, enzyme assays, or elemental analysis. Ideally familiar with molecular biology techniques (PCR, electrophoresis, DNA/RNA work). Meticulous, curious, and collaborative — you care about precision and enjoy problem-solving. Bonus: experience with fermentation or microbial strain characterization. Benefits At MicroHarvest, your work helps reshape how the world eats. We offer: A front-row seat in an ambitious, international biotech startup. A culture that celebrates science, learning, and curiosity. A team that values both precision and creativity. Here, every result matters. Every sample teaches us something new. Join us — and help bring better protein to the world. At MicroHarvest_, we value diversity and as such we do not discriminate based on race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual’s status in any group or class protected by applicable laws._ MicroHarvest respectfully encourages people from all backgrounds and under-represented groups to apply for this position.
