ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • BSc or MSc in Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Analytical Science, or another relevant scientific field
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and/or English
  • Solid scientific background in analytical science
  • Practical experience from analytical laboratories, preferably using UPLC and related systems

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry, especially within GMP environments
  • Familiarity with AstraZeneca’s working methods is a strong advantage
  • Structured, well-organized, accurate, and flexible mindset
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently
  • Clear communication skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

WeQuel is now looking for a consultant to join AstraZeneca in Gothenburg as an Analytical Scientist. This is a hands-on laboratory-based assignment, where you will play a key role in drug development by supporting analytical activities for drug product formulations.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional project teams, contribute to quality attribute testing and documentation, and be part of a team developing innovative, high-quality pharmaceuticals in a regulated environment.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct analytical testing to support drug formulation development
  • Apply chromatography techniques (e.g., UPLC) to detect and analyze small molecules
  • Ensure accurate documentation and data reporting in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Attend and present in project team meetings
  • Contribute to a scientifically sound and well-organized laboratory environment
  • Utilize computerized lab systems in daily work
  • Collaborate with formulation and process scientists
