GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Consumer Lending Program Manager is responsible for advancing consumer lending systems and programs to increase productivity and promote loan growth by designing strategies for consumer loan programs that are competitive in the marketplace and provide value to our members. This position is also responsible for managing the ongoing relationships and maintenance of third-party lending software and partnering with other leaders of internal business units to increase innovation. This role will also conduct internal consumer lending project management duties including: program research and development; managing related software integrations and accompanied projects; support audit and regulatory documentation; provide oversight on robotic processing and automation; and recommend and implement process improvement enhancements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree desired, Master’s Degree considered a plus. Equivalent education and work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

2. EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years’ experience in consumer lending, or financial services industry including a minimum of five years’ of progressive leadership experience.
  • Three years of experience in the analysis and reporting of statistical data.

3. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Experience developing lending program strategies to increase production metrics while providing an exceptional experience to members and employees.
  • Requires broad understanding of lending products, marketing and communications, consumer experience, operations, and technology.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of loan processes from point of sale through closure and servicing.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced MS Excel functions like formulas, pivot tables, and macros.
  • Functional understanding of SQL, XML, and Visual Basic preferred.
  • Experience with LoansPQ, CUDL, IMM, DocuSign, Quest soft, DataSafe, and robotic process automation preferred.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, deliver high quality results, and demonstrate accountability and ownership of work and actions.
  • Highly detailed and organized.
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously with the ability to adapt to changes and prioritize and manage competing demands.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills to critically evaluate user requests from the underlying true needs and distinguish solution ideas from requirements.

Responsibilities

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:

  1. Create new loan programs and strategies, workflows, and introduce stand-alone applications related to lending systems and processes to advance long term loan growth goals.
  2. Lead all aspects of requirements analysis and system maintenance, documentation and testing for Consumer Lending enhancements and projects of all sizes and complexity.
  3. Collaborate with and support Enterprise Applications, Digital Channel Delivery, Information Technology (IT), Credit Risk, Digital Delivery, and Retail Delivery on new innovations, system implementations and upgrades, and process improvements.
  4. Perform vendor management oversight and risk assessments, including vendor due diligence as needed.
  5. Identify, recommend and implement solutions and techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of all system capabilities, and maintain state-of-the-art practices.
  6. Manage routine configuration audits for control validation and compliance.
  7. Complete various complex analytical functions including: data management, data mapping, process improvement, and enhanced automation.
  8. Partner with other Consumer Lending leaders to identify enhancements and new technology to improve the loan experience for our members and employees.
  9. Work closely with Corporate Compliance and Risk Management to ensure enterprise-wide needs for due diligence, risk assessment, and continuing vendor monitoring is complete.
  10. Collaborate with Credit Risk in evaluating opportunities to improve automated decisions within our consumer loan origination system and implement monitoring routines to ensure systems are performing as expected.

  12. Responsible for providing ongoing relationship management and technical support for lending systems vendors contracted to deliver services to Golden1 and its members.
  13. Perform planning activities for vendor audit projects, based on risk and objectives to ensure their effectiveness.
  14. Document business processes impacting vendor relations and provide recommendations for improvements.
  15. Communicate effectively, conduct action planning and hold vendors accountable for established goals/standards and service levels.
  16. Assist with budgeting process, strategic planning, and matrix recommendations.
  17. Manage training materials and adherence to ensure a high level of vendor performance and consistency. May provide internal and external training to support vendor relationships.
  18. Maintains a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control appropriate to the position.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.
