We are a global leader in the life sciences sector, serving customers in healthcare, applied markets (including food, agbio and the environment), academia and government. Underpinned by our five core values – integrity, brilliance, passion, curiosity, respect – our core purpose is to deliver science for a safer world. We are actively looking for individuals that are passionate about making a difference, and have an opportunity for an Analytics Business Partner to join our team. Job Description This role within the LGC Group Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE) is designed for a finance‑trained analytics professional who excels at turning complex problems into clear, deliverable solutions. The primary focus is on the production, enhancement and completion of analytical outputs — including analysis, reporting changes and actionable insight. The role is suited to a qualified or part‑qualified accountant with strong technical capability in SQL and/or Tableau, who is comfortable working hands‑on with data and motivated by closing deliverables to a high standard, on time. The role offers opportunities to deepen technical capability and build a strong understanding of the business by delivering analytics that directly inform decision‑making and drive business performance. The successful candidate will be highly organised, pragmatic and outcome‑focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities and ensure analytics work progresses efficiently from request to completed output. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Own the accuracy, availability and timely delivery of assigned reports, dashboards and other analytical outputs. Deliver changes and enhancements to existing reports, ensuring outputs are complete, validated and fit for purpose. Produce focused analysis and insight that directly answers defined business questions, primarily across finance and commercial domains. Deliver high‑quality analytical outputs that are fully validated, well‑documented and repeatable, applying automation where appropriate to improve efficiency and minimise rework. Manage multiple concurrent requests, balancing urgency and priority, and actively closing actions to completion. Knowledge, Experience & Technical Skills Essential Tableau (or equivalent) dashboard and report development. Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and validation. Strong Excel capability for reconciliation, validation and analysis. Experience working with finance‑related data, ideally sourced from ERP systems (e.g. IFS). Proven experience delivering analytics outputs to deadlines. Desirable Experience with modern data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, dbt). Familiarity with data governance principles and standardised reporting models. Experience & Qualifications Qualified or part‑qualified professional accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent). Relevant degree qualification (or equivalent experience). Experience in a finance, commercial or analytics delivery role. Essential Competencies & Behaviours Strong attention to detail and appreciation of data integrity. Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities. Delivery‑focused mindset; values completion over continuous iteration. Clear and concise communicator with stakeholders. Proactive, self‑directed and comfortable working independently on defined deliverables. Additional Information LGC Group Analytics is a centrally placed team, responsible for providing each business unit within the organisation with analytics support, driving analytics best practices and engagement with our analytics tools (Tableau and SAP Business Objects). As part of the Group Analytics team, this role has the exciting opportunity to learn and develop alongside other analytics colleagues, and help influence how LGC performs analytics.
