This is a project-based internship focused on developing and documenting a tool that enables staff to pull, analyze, and visualize key performance data on a regular cadence. In this role, you’ll contribute to the design, development, and testing of this internal analytics solution, gaining hands-on experience in data transformation, visualization, and process automation. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in data analytics, visualization, and applied problem-solving within a mission-driven company. The internship will run from January 2026 through June 2026, with expected weekly commitment between 5 and 15 hours per week depending on availability. RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in designing and developing an internal analytics tool using Google Sheets, BigQuery, and/or other visualization platforms Support data extraction and transformation processes using SQL and BigQuery Collaborate with team members to define business requirements and develop key metrics and dashboards Build scripts or automations to streamline recurring data pulls and report updates Help document workflows, data sources, and best practices for ongoing maintenance Summarize and present analytical findings for internal stakeholders in clear, actionable formats LEARNING OUTCOMES By the end of the internship, the Analytics Intern will: Gain experience in applied data analysis, visualization, and automation Learn how to translate operational data into insights that inform decision-making Build familiarity with cloud data tools such as BigQuery and AWS Develop collaboration and communication skills in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment QUALIFICATIONS Senior standing (or exceptional junior) pursuing a degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field. Will consider applications for recent graduates in some cases. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Familiarity with Excel and Google Sheets Basic knowledge of Python Excellent communication skills and attention to detail A desire to learn and contribute to meaningful internal projects PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with Google BigQuery or other cloud data warehouses Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau) Experience with process automation or scripting (e.g., Apps Script, Python) Interest in operational analytics, data-driven decision-making, or the education sector CORE COMPETENCIES User-focus: Maintains consistent focus on the overarching purpose of analyses, ensuring analyses meet user needs while considering the user experience and perspective.
