POSITION SUMMARY

Ava is seeking to hire a full-time Analytics and ML (Machine Learning) Ops Engineer to join our growing Analytics team, reporting to the Principal Data Scientist. This role requires someone with experience in building/maintaining data and ML model pipelines, expanding and optimizing Ava’s existing data and ML Ops infrastructure, while collaborating cross-functionally with Power Resources, Salesforce, and Engineering teams. The Analytics and ML Ops Engineer is someone who communicates effectively, is highly collaborative, and who will be excited about contributing to Ava’s technology stack and broader mission.
As an Analytics & ML Ops Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable, reliable infrastructure to support analytics workflows, data science experimentation, and machine learning operations. Your work will empower Ava’s data-driven decision-making and accelerate the development and deployment of impactful models and insights.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related data/analytics-intensive field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and ML infrastructure.
• Strong background in building ML and CI/CT/CD pipelines in collaborative environments.
• Experience maintaining production-grade infrastructure for ML workflows and analytics systems.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL (BigQuery experience preferred).
• Deep experience with Bash scripting, Linux environments, and cloud services (preferably Google Cloud Platform).
• Experience with containerized application environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration.
• Proficiency with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Luigi).
• Strong Git/GitHub version control and DevOps collaboration practices.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform).
