About the role | Mō te tūranga: This position is based at our modern laboratory in Wellington Regional Hospital, servicing a population of 500,000 (public hospital and community referrals). The Anatomical Pathology department processes over 44,000 surgical and 5,000 Cytology cases each year, and has an active Registrar/Resident Teaching Programme. The department regularly receives out-of-region diagnostic referrals. As an Anatomical Pathologist at Awanui Labs - Wellington you will be part of a larger team of seventeen Pathologists (including our branch at Lower Hutt) providing clinical delivery and service excellence through high quality diagnostic services to our clients and patients across all sites. About you | He kōrero mōu We are seeking an experienced generalist Anatomical Pathologist. Experience and interest in dermatopathology and/or gastrointestinal pathology and/or breast pathology would be an advantage. Teaching of Registrars/Residents is an expectation of this role, as is active participation in Multi Disciplinary Meetings. You will need to hold the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia or a similar recognised overseas postgraduate qualification; and be eligible for, or working towards, vocational registration as a Specialist Pathologist by the Medical Council of New Zealand within a reasonable timeframe.
