Description

The Firm:
Andersen is seeking economists to join its newly launched Andersen Institute for Economics and Finance. The Andersen Institute’s mission is to shape discussions on the most pressing global economic issues facing businesses and governments today. Business leaders and policymakers need high-quality independent financial and economic information to navigate the world amidst heightened technological, political, and macroeconomic uncertainty. The Andersen Institute was founded in 2024 to deliver these needed insights. We aim to foster intellectual leadership, influence public discourse, and provide strategic direction to support C-Suite leaders and policymakers in navigating a complex global economy.
The Role:
Our team of economists, working with our network of experts and through external partnerships and collaborations, aim to aid leaders’ decision-making on the most critical economic and business issues by offering insight on the most important global trends.

The Institute will focus on both macro and micro perspectives in its research, evaluating

  • How global financial markets price risks and opportunities amid heightened macroeconomic, technological, and policy uncertainty.
  • How businesses, governments, and financial institutions are navigating evolving trends, with a particular emphasis on corporate decision-making and the development of new approaches to manage risks and capitalize on opportunities.

Recruited economists will conduct independent and collaborative research and publish findings in research and working paper series of the Institute as well as academic and business journals. They will be expected to attend conferences, participate in public and private events, engage in dialogue with policymakers and the private sector, and maintain a social media presence.
The research produced will be highly relevant to a diverse audience, including academic leaders, policymakers, and private sector executives.

The Institute is especially looking to hire individuals excited to work on the following broad macroeconomic themes:

  • perspectives on how AI & other technological innovations are reshaping businesses and the economy
  • implications of the ongoing shift toward a more fragmented world and other risks associated with geopolitical risk and uncertainty
  • understandings on how secular changes in demographic and climate resilience will reshape the world over the coming decade
