Purpose: Under supervision, performs a variety of entry level duties related to and involving the processing and preparing of room, equipment and supplies for the patients undergoing anesthetic procedures. Responsibilities: Retrieves and appropriately distributes the equipment as directed to prepare a patient for anesthesia. Assists in turning over rooms assuring minimal downtime between cases. Helps maintain an adequate supply of all stock items in work room and keeps the work room clean and in an orderly condition. Under supervision disassembles, decontaminates and sterilizes anesthesia equipment and supplies. Assists in stocking the carts and surgical suites with the required supplies as outlined on the anesthesia surgical suite stock par list. High School Diploma or GED required. 6 months - 1 year of health care experience preferred. If no previous hospital or pre-hospital training, Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to progress to an Anesthesia Technician position within 6months to 1 year of hire.
