Description Summary While upholding the Star Valley Health mission, vision, and values this key position is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care through supporting the Anesthesiology team. The Anesthesia Tech assists Anesthesia providers in the preparation and maintenance of patient monitoring devices and Anesthesia delivery systems. In addition the Anesthesia Technician assists in the acquisition, preparation, assembly, and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia. This is an integral role to a successful Anesthesia team. On the job training will be provided to orient a new technician to the variety of cases, equipment, and unique demands of our Anesthesia team. This can be a challenging and rewarding position for an individual who enjoys technical equipment, patient care, a strong teamwork focus, and has a curiosity to learn and grow while providing a valuable service to the community. This is an at-will position. Job Duties Work collaboratively with the Anesthesia providers to support daily operations including turnover and preparation of the Anesthesia equipment before and between cases ensuring that anesthesia equipment is properly handled Ensure that the Anesthesia cart and rooms are equipped for diverse cases. Check anesthesia machines and equipment to ensure that they work properly Assist Anesthesia providers with equipment during procedures and General OR, Trauma, and Obstetric cases. Utilize Phlebotomy skills to help with IV’s Performs other duties as assigned Requirements Requirements Abilities & Skills: Timeliness-Primary work hours from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Opportunities for overtime will be available. Demonstrate dependability, ability to follow directions, exhibit initiative and willingness to work and increase knowledge. Physically able to stand for long periods Able to listen and follow verbal communication Attention to detail and strong multi-tasking abilities Embraces changes and improvements which may enhance the quality, function, and appearance of the patients care and facility Experience & Education: Current BLS/CPR Certification High school graduate or GED equivalent Prior medical training and experience preferred Phlebotomy experience preferred Note: Position descriptions are intended to serve as a guideline for typical duties and requirements of a position, but are not inclusive.
