Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Anesthesia Technician, Bellevue Hospital. In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for administering intraoperative autotransfusion with proper and accurate record keeping,and performing quality control and assessment with documentation; under supervision of theAnesthesia Supervisor and the Lead Anesthesia Technician. Responsible for management of anesthesia related equipment and supplies, including cleaning and ensuring appropriate function. Job Responsibilities: * Responsible for management of anesthesia related equipment and supplies, including cleaning and ensuring appropriate function. * Responsible for setting up Arterial, CV and Swanz Ganz lines. * Calibrates pressure transducers. * Operates Steris System 1. * Operates Transesophageal (TEE) Probe. * Operates HAEMONETICS Cell Saver. * Ensures functionality of all sophisticated anesthesia equipment including but not limited to anesthesia machines, PICIS system, Sonosite ultrasound device, transcranial Doppler, Transesophageal echo device, transcranial O2 monitor. * Prepares OR monitors for subsequent patient care as requested. * Submits requests for the items mentioned above well in advance to the Chief anesthesia and monitoring technologist for purchasing. * Receives and relays messages coming to the equipment room and maintain the log book. * Meets weekly with the Chief of Anesthesia and Supervisor- Anesthesia to review inventory and issues related to monitoring equipment and autotransfusion devices. Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a High School Education Required. Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions and list and move equipment. Basic computer skills, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook. Ability to lift and push all anesthesia equipment and supplies over 50 lbs. Preferred: One year of work experience in an operating room environment and/or familiarity with OR drug and equipment terminology. Preferred Qualifications: College degree, B.S., 1 year experience.
