Candidates should possess recent, active, and relevant experience in the healthcare industry, ideally within the past six months in a hospital or physician’s office setting.

Experience should demonstrate the capacity to perform the essential duties of the role in a comparable healthcare environment and reflect current knowledge of industry standards, tools, and regulatory requirements.

  • A graduate of an Anesthesia Technician program is strongly preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year of previous experience

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary function of the Anesthesia Technician is to assist the licensed anesthesia provider(s) with functions related to the care and monitoring of patients and equipment. Responsibilities include:

  • Performs setup of sterile blocks for total joint patients; assists physician with blocks, including ultrasound setup, dressing block area, clean-up, disposal of sharps, etc.
  • Maintains an adequate inventory of necessary equipment and supplies; orders all non-stock Anesthesia products
  • Checks stock supplies and drugs for expiration dates.
  • Cleans and maintains emergency carts (airway, epidural, trauma, peds, L&D & specialty).
  • Maintains drug par levels and supplies for the assigned area.
  • Prepares IV fluids for all cases.
  • Provides daily maintenance of equipment and troubleshoots malfunctions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
