Description:
POSITION: ANIMAL ATTENDANT (DOG DAYCARE)
At Kip, we provide pets with the best care and enrichment - and have our people to thank for it. We are compassionate caregivers to our four-legged friends and exceptional communicators to their paw-rents. And, we are now on the howl for more dog mad, get-your-hands-dirty-and-your-shirt-furry extraordinaires to join our Kip community.
We’re looking for a team member who can work across all three of our north-east locations in Brunswick, Fairfield and Thomastown. The ideal candidate must be able to travel to these sites to do both open (6.45am-12.45pm) and closing shifts (12.30pm-6.30pm). We are looking for Monday-Friday availability and interest in picking up a minimum of 24 hours per week across these sites.
If you have recently applied and participated in a one-way video interview and still meet the terms above, we encourage you to apply again to be considered.
WHY KIP HAPPY STAYS?
- Did someone say pets?
- We offer real career pathways for individuals who are looking for more than just a job. We are committed to development with a majority of our leaders having been promoted internally.
- We offer opportunities for ongoing training to develop and build your animal handling skills, such as pet first aid and pet CPR, canine socialisation online workshops, and/or become an accredited dog trainer through Kip with the National Dog Trainer’s Federation (NDTF).
- Our team leaders have access to further training opportunities, such as human first aid, leadership workshops, secondment roles and a Kip community where ongoing learning is celebrated and shared amongst each other.
- We drive collaborative relationships and we encourage our team leaders to visit similar sites to understand how we operate across Kip, network with teams and learn/share ideas from peers.
- We offer a structured induction program that trains on all aspects of the role you will need to succeed and feel confident. This is great for individuals with no animal handling experience but a desire to learn on the job!
WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS?
- Able to physically handle larger breed dogs confidently
- High level of communication and empathetic in nature
- Able to work long days, on your feet, in a high pressure environment
- A passion for, strong desire to learn, or aspiration to continue your development with canine behaviour and training
- Comfortable with computer systems (emails, booking platform) and phone applications (using social media, filming and editing basic video content)
WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO BE SHORTLISTED?
- Must be available Monday to Friday between the hours of 6.45am and 6.30pm and looking for a minimum of 24 hours per week
- Have Australian working rights, sorry no Working Holiday Visas
- Previous large breed dog ownership is favoured, as we do have a high number of large, high energy breeds at these locations
